When I figured out, I can pay less out of pocket by saying I didn't have insurance, I canceled my insurance. I was paying out of pocket either way due to high a deductible, that I never could hit.

I just made an appt for an MRI Through my insurance, United health care, and the price is $940. I asked what it would cost without insurance. Just self pay. She said $400!!!

I work for Cigna and have Cigna for my insurance my deductible is freaking $5k which I will never meet why pay monthly if I’m going to pay out of pocket deductibles that high!

Also, you often don’t know something is denied until you get a bill for it. They don’t even bother to tell you. Even if they send a letter it’s often hard to read. They don’t just say this was denied”
