Up until the 90s, we sang God Save the Queen (or King) in school. In the 70s, we sang Oh, Canada! and said the Lord's Prayer in the morning and God Save the Queen at the end of the day.

Its a similar system to countries that have a President as ceremonial head of state and PM as head of government. Canada has a King but the powers are limited by the constitution and powers are very limited

The crown is a symbol of executive authority that is exercised by the King’s Privy Councillors aka federal Ministers. They are whoever has the confidence of the House of Commons.

It’s very hands off - constitutional monarchy - we make our own decisions etc. so yes King Charles is the king but the Gov General does all the signing. But I do love the monarchy - it’s just a fun thing.

Okay. We are a colony, therefore the monarchy is still at the top. There is a Governor General, which is the figure head appointed to be the monarch’s rep. But it is not an actionable position.
