At first I thought, "If he could tap in, he should be able to tap out, right?" Turns out, when you tap in, your card needs to have a minimum balance (around Rp5,000–10,000) as a guarantee that you can pay the fare. So here's something I learned today: Make sure your card has enough balance before you travel, so you don't end up in the same situation. Thankfully, one of the gate staff helped us.
