With that being said, while they are in treatment they do not learn how to deal with life on life’s terms. I just opened my own Women’s “step-down” sober home. I have found that there needs to be another step from sober living to get people used to autonomy. Because everyone comes from that bubble.

Ferritin is your body’s iron storage protein and when it’s low, your body starts rationing what little it has for survival functions only. Everything else? It suffers. Here’s what low ferritin can actually look like: ✦ Exhaustion that sleep doesn’t fix ✦ Hair loss or shedding by the handful ✦ Breathlessness doing basic tasks ✦ Brain fog and poor concentration ✦ Anxiety that seems to come from nowhere ✦ Cold hands and feet ✦ Pale skin, brittle nails, dry hair ✦ Heart palpitations ✦ Restless legs at night You can have all of these symptoms and still be told your bloods are “normal” because standard iron panels often don’t include ferritin. You have to ask for it specifically. And the reference range is almost meaningless. A ferritin of 12 might technically be “in range” but most functional medicine practitioners won’t be happy until you’re sitting closer to 70-100+.
