It blows my mind when people have said “texas has a grid” like it doesn’t go down when it gets cold. Never thought i’d agree with ford but im with him on this one.

Canada has Always Matched The USAs energy when they start to get too Bold and then it's like the newer generation goes "oh yeah that's we are partners"

Electricity generation is very expensive for NY. Purchasing from Quebec and Ontario is cheaper than building a power plant.

Hola :
I'm an Ontarian and my husband's job is tied to free trade with the US. I'm terrified and never thought I'd see this in my lifetime.

So Canada has a reputation and the premiers met with JT then this came out I believe. JT will not show his hand but it doesn’t mean he hasn’t made any moves.

I live in Manitoba and we have a massive amount of hydroelectricity and we also sell it to the states.

I don't agree. I think Canada needs to play nice while making trade deals with other countries and then do a hard pivot away from the states and screw them.

What about doing what was posited as a option last time - voiding pharma drug patents, letting 🇨🇦 companies produce export sell their own versions, wouldn't pharma lobby lose their shit ?

Justin Trudeau has been working hard on this J.T. has always stood up for us proudly, strongly and intelligently.
He is also dealing with all of little P.P.'s distractions.

You know…it’s very coincidental that Ford comes out swinging after the First Ministers meeting with the PM Wednesday. This could be a coordinated attack where Trudeau tries to be the statesmen and Ford is the Muscle. Joint effort. I expect other Premiers will come out as part of a strategy in coming weeks.

It's a clownish proposal tho. Ontario is running out of generating capacity and building gas plants powered by gas imported almost exclusively from the US. Under Ford, we're more dependent than ever.

I agree that this whole thing will start a trade war, and that it'd be the right thing to do to retaliate. But I'm also mindful that it's a ton of our revenue, and he's cut so many services already.

Trudeau actually did say he would employ retaliatory tariffs several days ago at an event in Halifax! He described the ones put in place during the 1st DJT presidency and said we'd do it again.
