@sedatersaviourtv: Bringing Back Mbopo Culture. One of the most prestigious old tradition that brought pride to African Women living in the Southern Atlantic Region is The Mbopo Fattening Room tradition. This tradition was widely practiced by near all tribes on the southern side of the Atlantic Ocean, the Ibibios, Annangs, Oro and the Efiks While the Ibibios call theirs Mbopo the Efiks and Oro called it Nkuho Despite the differences in the names (which was merely dialect differences) The ordinances of the culture remained similar The Mbopo Culture known by The European Colonial Masters as The ‘Fattening Room Culture’ Was one that prepared maidens for womanhood During the Mbopo process experienced women gather to teach, advice, mentor and direct Maidens on how to be good women, how to be good wives and how to be good mother’s Maidens were lectured on how to cook various kinds of food, maidens were thought how to handle situations, how to handle anger and provocations, how to work beautifully as women, how to sit as women and how to talk.Etc I highly advocate for the return of this culture amongst our people the Mbopo Fattening Room remains the pride of our people and the best way to prepare our maidens for womanhood The Mbopo Festival and The Marriage Market could be our major tourist event and my attract foreign tourists to our land.
