Before refrigerators they had an “ice box.” Where do you think the ice came from? Grandparents had an ice house on their lake property in the Poconos. Pretty cool actually.

good idea to recover from the melting ice. take the ice blocks back to the pole. the emptied space will freez more water and repeat the process.
