Feel free to let your insurer know you're contacting the insurance commissioner. Sometimes their definition of "medically necessary" will change on the spot!

Heh. I’m currently dying, and waiting on a PA for a pain patch. My guts don’t move on their own, but it took a month to get the PA for the (common) med to help. Our system is EVIL.

Does my insurance refusing to cover my meds count as something I can report? It's a psych med

Do you have an idea of who I can contact in my community to form a letter writing group to support families who are faced with these circustances? It's such a daunting task.

In Maryland, the AG’s office has a health advocacy unit that will assist you in getting fair treatment from insurance and providers.

My state health insurance commissioner said they couldn't help us with UHC, because my employer bought coverage through a group plan through a trade association. That's when we gave up fighting.

is there a kind of "statute of limitations" for these reports to be effective? my wife and I have had IVF coverage denied despite clearly qualifying under their rules. we appealed 5 times and nothing

Organize a doctors/surgeons union along with the nurses, lobby and push for insurance rating systems and alternative payment system through a credit union if an insurance company is rated poorly

UHC denied 3 days of outpatient postop care—nurse would stop by twice/day just to give me a 1hr transfusion. So had to keep me in the hospital for 4 days to do them, which they covered…

I advocate for MS legislation in Wisconsin. It takes a long time but it works. Makes that polisci degree finally useful. 🧡
