the hardest part of something traumatic like that is you can't just go home after it you have to move on and you are distracted and shook up all day. so hard.

my daughter had a massive sezuire when she was 11 months and the young junior doctor who worked on her, kept coming up to high dependency to see her every hour. he saved my girl that day ❤️

First CPR I had to do will be ingrained in me forever. The person didn’t survive. It was awful and at the end of my shift.I walked out and all her family were in a room waiting on news about her.

As a Paramedic of 14 years I’ve been to multiple paeds resp / cardiac arrests. But we have the journey to ready ourselves. Having them handed to you without warning is the stuff of nightmares.

My worst day-3am. Colleague had a cardiac arrest in the depths of the hospital. No equipment near. Pulmonary haemorrhage. I was an outreach/RO nurse so led the arrest. Blood everywhere. He died

As someone who's had a very similar experience and needed a doctor like you - massive respect and gratitude. The fact you had to just carry on working is crazy but I understand why ❣️

Public sector jobs are often very stressful. I think this often not realised by people in the private sector.

I used to complain about waiting ages at hospital until one time I had a dr meet me off the ambulance, had me through a&e, bloods taken, fluids and antibiotics up and on a ward all within 30-45mins

I honestly don't know how paramedics or nurses or doctors cope with the trauma they're often experiencing.
