Despite being on military leave, he allegedly continued to use his travel privileges, frequently flying first class to places like London, Los Angeles, and Dublin. The alleged scheme began in October 2021 when Dior, still on active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps, started working as a baggage handler. Within a week of training, he reportedly forged a deployment order to obtain an eight-month leave. In June 2023, despite having left the Marine Corps in 2022, he allegedly repeated the fraud to obtain another two and a half years of leave. During this time, he also managed to secure a job as a Federal Air Marshal by falsely claiming he was still serving in the military, allowing him to work for the Department of Homeland Security while remaining on leave from the airline. The airline eventually grew suspicious and contacted law enforcement, leading to an interview with Dior in September 2024, during which he allegedly admitted to falsifying military orders. U.S. Attorney Matthew Podolsky stated that Dior, a federal law enforcement officer, abused his position for personal gain while pretending to be deployed on military missions. If convicted, Dior faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison.
