@alluneedtoknowaboutearth: The Brutal Conquest of Jerusalem The Crusades in Jerusalem were a series of religious wars between Christians and Muslims, aimed at controlling the Holy Land. The First Crusade (1096–1099) culminated in the Christian conquest of Jerusalem, marked by significant bloodshed. In 1187, Muslim leader Salah ad-Din (Saladin) reclaimed the city after the Battle of Hattin. Jerusalem became the focal point of several subsequent Crusades, with control shifting between the two sides. These wars left a lasting legacy of cultural and religious tensions but also fostered exchanges of knowledge and traditions between Europe and the Islamic world.
