I got one of those when I was 12 years old. The first time they turned the key and expanded it, something in my nasal passage POPPED and I could breathe better 😳

It’s a torture device. I had one as a kid before braces. I would scream and cry every day before it had to be turned. It feels like you’re being ripped apart.

I was an orthodontic dental assistant. I LOVED IT. I went back to school to become an orthodontist and accidentally learned sign language. Now Im an interpreter 😂 Whoops. Orthodontics is so cool!

this is why I always questioned my dentist when they said my teeth were perfect. my mouth has always felt small. and I've always had an issue with biting my cheeks and tongue do to lack of space.

I had one and was not painful at all just a lot of pressure after turning the key. But did wonders on my breathing and now I’m a registered dental hygienist.
