My ex mother in law use to make fun of me for how I spoke Spanish because it was her first language. I was like at least I can speak it unlike your kids 🤷🏽♀️she stopped after that

I learned to speak Mexican Spanish. my HS Spanish teacher was from Spain and absolutely hated my accent 😅🤣

This type of commenting made me stop trying to speak Spanish when I was younger. I was always shot down for my accent. It wasn’t until I became an adult that I became confident enough to practice again and call out people for judging my accent.
