Used to work for unum. Had to deny a post-stillborn mum's maternity leave. The reason was she didn't have a baby to bond with, so no bonding leave needed. Quit after that.

I had 2 miscarriages and my doctor ordered bloodwork to see why they may have occurred but insurance denied it because they said I needed to have 3 miscarriages before they’d consider approving it.

Due to an overwhelming family history of ovarian cancer, my doctor rec’d a hysterectomy to me at age 45. I was denied PREVENTATIVE care because they “would pay for any cancer treatments”.

I had three pregnancy losses of my sweet babies. Had to fight insurance so hard to fight for coverage and testing each time. Still to this day we have no answers. The turmoil of insurance sucks

I delivered my stillborn son at 24 weeks and then spent two hours on the phone trying to find out if genetic testing would be covered so we could find out why he passed away. They wouldn’t talk

It’s the same with colonoscopies on my insurance. They are covered at 100% as preventative UNLESS the doctor finds something, then they are diagnostive so then I have to pay! Like what?????
