Yes, but the problem(one of MANY) lin the US is our healthcare is tied to our job-and many states are “at will”employment,meaning bosses can fire you for no reason. So a disincentive to protest/strike

This happened to me last year. I took a week and a half off over Xmas. Got Covid. Told my boss I was taking sick time instead and she approved. Advocate for yourself!!

I like the law system though: It's more like, hey, we got almost zero regulation, but if your products hurt people, you gonna pay millions. Here it is: obey by 50 standards, if not, the fine is 25k

Same in The Netherlands, in the condition that you were sick enough to not be able to enjoy your vacation. Which makes sure people don’t claim their days for having a bit of a headache I guess

My dad doesn’t even get sick days it’s all PTO so if he gets sick and he’s used all his days he has to go in sick
