@karalined13: I have gotten them since I was a little kid so I was forced to become a pro at this. 1. As soon as you feel the tingling and burning RUN to the store and get Lysine pills, lysine cream, bottle of tylenol, quantum health cold sore patches, and abreva. 2.immediately take 3 1000mg lysine pills 3. Crush up one tylenol mix it with abreva (make a little paste) and put on your lip to sit for about 2 hours. 4.Clean lip off then put lysine cream on, cold sore patch, and go to sleep. 5. You will wake up with the smallest cold sore ever and it might not even form if u get lucky. All i did after this was put a cold sore patch and lysine on every day after and it was gone in 3 days. Mine started forming tuesday night and it is now friday and it looks like a tiny little pimple. The scabbing stage will be so easy because of the steps I took to reduce the size!
