the problem is you guys ignore the fact that you have a Canadian audience ... we always have to go searching instead of being accommodated. but also, I've seen brands who up their prices for Canada-

literally how? in america the eos lotion is like $8 and we don’t even have it in canada and in amazon it’s $30. even with the conversion rate thats still over priced.

As an American in Canada I will say that I use the conversion as a way to girl math purchases 😂 “$15??? Well… that’s only like $10 US, so no biggie” bahaha

We don't earn 1.42 CAD for every 1.00 USD an American would for the same job. In fact, for most professionals, nominal salaries are much lower in Canada.

I would like to add: if you say “but this [item produced in the US] is more expensive in Canada even after conversion” that is because you’re paying for someone to ship it across countries for you

So this is not completely accurate for a couple of reasons. In Canada we only have a couple of grocery gains that are oligopolies with profit margins doubled what US grocery stores make.

Idk I’ve seen some videos, especially grocery ones where I’ve converted the total and it’s still much more expensive in Canada

The amount of times I get told I need to lower my prices for Canadians. Sorry no. My items are a luxury not a need, I’m well aware. And I have a minimum I need to make off them to make it worth making

its really not that simple tho, prices in canada do be more expensive than here in the US even factoring a basic conversion of currencies

I think most of their surprise comes from how cheap items are. Yes our currency is close but something that is sold for $8 here is like $20-$30 for them there.

Try living here for a year. Just try. Canadian groceries are way more expensive, it’s hard out here 😩

Prices in Canada are actually higher though, I live in a city where literal bus loads of Canadians come down just to shop.

I hear you but for a long time our dollar was close to yours and plus there are many products that are priced way higher. When we say that would be $ 30 here *SOMETIMES* its comparable that

thats because they are comparing their buying power and not the actual price.

A lot of our stuff are also just more expensive in general tho. Food is more expensive even with the conversion a lot of the time :0

not always. ie some things cost more money in canada vs us. when the switch first released, games were cheaper to go to the us and buy it there than to buy it in canada. we have a lot more import fees

not really true.. example; dairy products. milk and cheese is SO SO pricey in Canada yet is so cheap in the US. Also, clothing, especially stores that sell the same clothes brands (ie marshalls)
