ESA Animal Shelter: Is a lot of capital needed for these? Are we squandering away the funds meant for the dogs? What is being invested is sheer hardwork. Meticulous dedication. 80 moringa plants are being propagated from stem cutting. 320 papaya plants are grown from the seeds. Chicken manure and cattle manure is used as fertiliser. What we collected from nearby farms and dried. Working towards growing few hundred moringa and papaya trees. The dogs stand to benefit! And we expend great effort to manage the shelter well. This land was cleared and pillars erected to build senior ward and extend out holding area. Even these pillars were self built. But we have to shelve this project as even for the basic needs we are greatly struggling now. Many have stopped helping assuming we are well endowed. Which stops me in the track and wonder is working hard and maintaining the shelter spick and span and converting the shelter to a garden shelter a big mistake! Is treating the workers well, cooking good meal on festive days and giving them bonus mainly from the proceeds from our side hustle efforts, for all their effort a terrible mistake? Is it a mistake to resort to alternative medical care and treating so many? Maybe we should have rushed to vet for even the maggot wounds, for even the slightest ailments, would have generated so much sympathy and got us the needed help. Maybe if we had just slackened and bring the dogs and the shelter to a miserable state, would have many pity based on the condition and help. Maybe if we just keep about 180 to 200 dogs and very rarely extend help to any might be pleasing to many. Maybe we should also just ignore the approaches. And didn't we organise Open House. And didn't the visitors praise our efforts and ESA's growth! WHERE DID WE GO WRONG? ESA JUST DON'T DESERVE THIS!
