Delve into the fascinating journey of Simon & Garfunkel's iconic "The Sound of Silence" (originally "The Sounds of Silence"). Written by Paul Simon, the duo's studio audition of this very song secured them a record deal with Columbia Records. The original acoustic version was recorded in March 1964 for their debut album, "Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M." Released that October, sales were initially disappointing.
