How to⬇️⬇️⬇️ You need to chose one item to add to the pack of cards per time used. This means you won’t have pegs and blocks etc out at the same time. I did this for demonstration purposes only. This means you can use the same pack of cards over and over, simply with different items added! It is a beautiful compromise because student feel at ease with the familiarity of the cards (they know what to do), but the novelty of the new item added is great (there have been studies that indicate novelty may influence memory). This is also good for you because it can be a simple to set up go to for busy weeks. I used my own cards once we moved past 10, which was an easy transition. This term I’ll be using base 10 materials and these cards (larger numbers). Simple activities like this make settling up play doable. What do you think?
