@metrodetroitnews: Metro Detroit residents have reported sightings of possible drones flying across the skies over the past few days. In one video, a drone was seen flying over Downriver. Additional sightings have been reported in Oakland & Macomb, Detroit, and other areas. At this time, the origin of the drones remains unknown. These sightings come on the heels of a similar wave of reports in New Jersey that sparked widespread concern. Since mid-November 2024, numerous reports have emerged of unidentified drones operating during nighttime across New Jersey and neighboring states. These drones, described as larger than typical hobbyist models, have caused unease due to their unexplained presence. In response, the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security have launched investigations into the incidents. Authorities have stated that there is currently no evidence to suggest these drones pose a national security or public safety threa.t. The situation remains under investigation.
