@theflippinmixologist: I’ve been on a bit of a break since the end of October. I lost someone dear to me and it messed me up. I’ve been pretty obsessively trying to create something to honor him and our connection since then, but nothing has felt good enough. I finally convinced myself I needed to do something else to try and kick myself out of that rut. I saw this idea for a Santa Hat cocktail (basically a Campari Sour with rosemary) not sure where I saw it- if you know, let me know so I can give credit- and wanted to give it a try. I had to Flip it some, but it is delicious. Like biting into a fresh grapefruit, the bitter Campari, sweet syrup, and acidic lemon all blend beautifully with herby rosemary into a festive-looking cocktail you’re going to love this holiday season! Let’s get Flipped. Santa’s Hat 1.5 oz Campari 1.5 oz 1:1 simple syrup 1.5 oz fresh lemon juice 1 egg white or other foamer 2 sprigs fresh rosemary Clap one sprig of rosemary a couple times between your hands to really release the oils, then add it and to a shaker with your egg white, syrup, juice, and Campari. Dry shake HARD for a minute or two. Add a medium ice chunk and one or two cheater cubes and shake HARD again until cold. Strain into a chilled coupe, slap the second sprig of rosemary and then lay it in the foam.
