pov: You hated Heeseung. At least, that was what you told yourself. You hated his arrogance. The way he walked into a room like he owned it. The way people naturally gathered around him. The way he somehow became the center of everything without even trying. And, most importantly, you hated how ridiculously good he was at everything. Basketball? Good. Academics? Annoyingly good. Looks? Unfortunately, good. You had no idea when your irritation toward him started. Maybe it was the first time he casually took the highest score in class and simply shrugged when everyone congratulated him. Maybe it was the way he always had that little smirk whenever someone challenged him. Or maybe... You just hated how much you noticed him.

Maybe it was the first time he casually took the highest score in class and simply shrugged when everyone congratulated him. Maybe it was the way he always had that little smirk whenever someone challenged him. Or maybe... You just hated how much you noticed him. "Pass!" You looked up from the bench as Heeseung caught the ball. He dribbled past two players, jumped, and shot. Swish. The ball went straight through the hoop. His friends immediately cheered. "Three points!" Heeseung grinned, slightly breathless, and high-fived one of his teammates. You rolled your eyes. "Tsk. Must've been the wind." Your friend beside you burst out laughing. "Girl, you're unbelievable." "What?" "You literally watched the whole thing." "I was looking at the scoreboard." "The scoreboard is behind you." You immediately looked away. "Whatever." It became a habit. Whenever you saw him in the hallway, you rolled your eyes. When he answered the professor's question correctly, you clicked your tongue. When he walked past your desk, you'd mutter, "Here comes Mr. Perfect." And whenever your friends asked what your problem was with him, you always gave them the same answer. "He is just so arrogant. I hate his guts." You said it so often that eventually, everyone believed you. Everyone except Heeseung. Because somewhere along the way, Heeseung started noticing. At first, he ignored it. Maybe you were just having a bad day. Then you rolled your eyes at him for the third time that week. He raised an eyebrow. "Did I do something?" "No." "Then why are you looking at me like that?" "Like what?" "Like you want to throw a chair at me." You smiled sweetly. "I don't." Heeseung stared at you. "You thought about it, though." You walked away. "Crazy," he muttered. But it continued. Days turned into weeks. And eventually, Heeseung had enough. One afternoon, you were leaving the classroom when you turned a corner and almost bumped straight into him. You stopped. He was standing there, leaning against the wall. Waiting. You immediately tried to walk past him. He stepped in front of you. You moved left. He moved left. You moved right. He moved right. "Heeseung." "Why are you so angry?" You blinked. "What?" He straightened, looking directly at you. "Why are you so angry at me?" "I'm not." "You are." "I'm really not." "You roll your eyes every time you see me." "Coincidence." "You call me arrogant." Your eyes widened. He smiled slightly. "I hear things, you know." You suddenly became quiet. Heeseung's expression softened. "Seriously. What did I do?" You looked down. "Nothing." "Then tell me why you hate me." "I don't hate you." "You just told everyone you hate my guts." Your face burned. He actually knew. You swallowed. "Maybe I just don't like you." "Why?" You didn't answer. "Did I offend you?" Silence. "Did I say something?" Still nothing. Heeseung sighed. "At least give me a chance to apologize." You clenched your hands. "You already did." His eyebrows furrowed. "When?" You finally looked at him. "The letter." Heeseung froze. "What letter?" Your heart sank. "You don't remember?" "What letter?" You laughed awkwardly, suddenly wishing the floor would swallow you whole. "Never mind." "No." Heeseung stepped closer. "What letter?" You looked away. "I put a letter in your locker." "When?" "Months ago." Heeseung's face changed. "You..." You took a shaky breath. #heeseung #leeheeseung #evan #enhypen
