there different ways,,my mom would put a Molcajete in the center of the pot to stand them up and also cook faster because of the heat lava stone for 30 or 45 minutes.👍old tradition 👍

I need help!!! I’ve been steaming my tamales for 4.5 hours and they are still mushy when I checked it at the 4 hours mark,,it’s about 50 tamales in my pot!

45 minutes my mom wraps a coffee cup in foil puts in middle two help standing them up . After 45 minutes check one if it looks like it’s coming off the husk it’s ready take them out to dry and firm up

Put a plastic grocery bag over the tamales then the wet kitchen towel will keep steam in ! Cook 1.5 hours

Mine were 2 hrs each standing up for the chicken and pork tamale batches. Did the towel and husks over. Let them sit for atleast 30 mins. Came out perfect.

I use a pot similar or probably same size and stand up tamales and cook on high heat for 40 minutes and then 40 minutes on low heat

I usually 2-3 hrs I cover the tamales with the corn husks and then foil seal it really good and then the. It helps keep the steam in . And let them rest and then serve. The corn husks add flavor
