Had a Soldier who couldn't pass height and weight but ran a 13 min 2 mile. He was flagged for promotion due to his weight. He ran his 13 min 2 mile, stopped at the finish line, smoked a cig and crossed 1 second before he would've failed just to make a point.

I’m an 11-Bravo veteran, and I was a functional alcoholic/athlete. We’d party to 0200-0300 and still make PT formation at 0600, then run sub 7 minutes per mile, regardless of distance 🫡🇺🇸❤️
