@abcnews: For the first time in over a decade, obesity rates in the United States may finally be heading in the right direction and new weight loss drugs like semaglutide could be part of the reason why. A new study published Friday in the journal, JAMA Health Forum, found that obesity numbers ticked down slightly from 46% in 2022 to 45.6% in 2023. While only a slight decline, this is the first drop recorded in at least a decade. "What we're seeing for the first time is that curve is bending and shows a sign of hope for something that was really a threat to American public health for so many years," said study co-author and ABC News contributor John Brownstein. Brownstein and his team noted that women and adults aged 66 to 75 saw the largest decreases in obesity. #news #us #obesity #abcnews
Ozempic made me eat more. I was hungrier after every meal. My doc took me off.he said the long term risks aren’t worth it if I’m still eating.

Definitely grocery costs. I’ve lost 30 lbs since the beginning of the pandemic because the cost is just too high. I don’t even cook full meals anymore, just snack-like portions

I can’t afford to eat breakfast lol. I only buy snacks for lunch and then dinners… and my grocery bill is still 300$ +. Two years ago I only spent 215 on groceries and that had breakfast and lunches.

BMI doesn't mean much, my husband is about 30 on that scale. He's in great shape, very muscular, works out almost everyday and does strongman competitions.

I along with thousands of other Americans only eat 1-2 meals a day instead of 3 meals and snacks through it. It’s poverty I have $300 max a month for me and my partner + dog for food costs

It’s poverty! People can’t afford to put food on the table. I got dinners for a week and a half and some stuff to snack on for lunches and breakfast and it still cost over $300

Nah, It's social media talk. People around my age are exercising a lot more than any generation in USA as what I've noticed. If it wasn't for social media, I'm trying to lose weight myself.
