Respectfully disagree on lead free, i like that "hyper eutectic" stuff, think it's 63/37? Just use with ventilation. And engineer japan makes a solder sucker (ss-02) that actually works amazing!

Flux is the most important ingredient in soldering. I also prefer silver solder as it's harder once solid.

Question about the solder inhaler: does it have a heating coil that can be adjusted as a self loading soldering iron if the tips were combined?

I've always had difficulty soldering. My solder seems to always take forever to melt and by the time it does I've burnt up my component.
