The reality of Soaked Bar. I’ve adjusted my cake recipe so many times to get here. We went from baking 8 cakes every 35 minutes to now pushing 24 in that same timeframe. Baking is a science, I dump all the cakes in the oven at once, they won’t bake evenly. If the recipe isn’t right, the quality won’t be the same either, and I refuse to sacrifice quality. It’s not easy handling over 100 cake boxes, let alone 150-200 orders from a small apartment in Jersey City. I’ve quit my job to grow this, and this is now my full-time focus. Every week, I try to find ways to take more orders. But every week, new challenges come up, one day, it’s oven space, another day, it’s ingredients. And just like that, BAM, no eggs. As a business owner, challenges come with the territory. The key is finding solutions, and having an efficient system in place to implement them effectively. People will always have something to say, good or bad. Some will get mad over things out of my control, while others will understand the reality of what it takes to build something from the ground up. This is my reality. The truth is, many hardworking people aren’t thanked enough for what they do. Farmers, construction workers, sanitation workers, delivery drivers, bakers, restaurant workers, and countless others put in long hours of physical, mental, and emotional labor every single day. I’m not asking for a thank you out of this post, I just ask that people remember there’s so much happening behind the camera that you don’t see. Change doesn’t happen overnight, but believe me, change is coming. I’m working hard to scale Soaked Bar into something bigger. The tools aren’t all in place yet because this is still new to me, but I’m figuring it out, one step at a time. So to those who support, those who are patient, and those who see the bigger picture, THANK YOU!!
