I’m a little suspicious that it was not mentioned, at all, in any literature, for the first 200 years following the first Fleet. The very first mention of it was in 1976. So if it was around and do ubiquitous, why was it simply ignored by all letter writers, historians, reporters etc etc until that date? Genuine question.
