Its a misallocation of resources to subsidize what isnt profitable. It quite literally means it costs more to provide than the value being created. We should at least remove USPS’s monopoly and see

USPS makes a ton of final deliveries for peoples packages. Privitizing will make out of the way places get no deliveries.
