The Namek Saga (often grouped with the Frieza Saga) is a seminal arc in the Dragon Ball Z anime and manga. Spanning episodes 36–67, the story follows Gohan, Krillin, and Bulma as they travel to Planet Namek to use its Dragon Balls to revive their fallen friends. Frieza and his elite henchmen (including Zarbon and Dodoria) are already ruthlessly slaughtering Namekian villages to claim the Dragon Balls and achieve immortality. Meanwhile, Vegeta arrives on the planet with his own agenda: to steal the Dragon Balls from Frieza and secure eternal life for himself. Escalation and The Ginyu Force As Gohan and Krillin struggle to survive and ally with Vegeta out of necessity, Frieza realizes his standard troops cannot handle the situation. He summons his ultimate elite squad, the Ginyu Force. They push the Z Fighters and Vegeta to the brink of death, until Goku finally arrives after completing intense gravity training on his 6-day voyage through space. Goku effortlessly dispatches members of the Ginyu Force, completely shifting the balance of power on the planet. Key Battles Vegeta vs. Zarbon: A pivotal fight where Vegeta leverages the Saiyan Zenkai boost (becoming stronger after nearly dying) to defeat his former ally. Goku vs. The Ginyu Force: A showcase of Goku's monumental power leap, where he overpowers heavy hitters like Recoome and Burter with ease.
