that's just a gimmick imo. I've seen tons of panels blocked solid. no space. but its rare to see a residential panel overloaded. I've NEVER seen a 200a draw over 120a in a house

In Norway, we have Tibber Puls, a small device (about the size of a lighter) that plugs into the electricity meter. It lets us monitor energy usage and control the electric car charger.

or do a load calc and only give them the amperage you can for their level 2. this is why we teach load calcs in our EV installer class

our EV chargers in the UK do this already we put a CT clamp on the mains and they monitor themselves
