Omani Maho Note: i said 2 cans of evaporated milk in the video but i used condensed milk. I made a mistake i apologize. Ingredients: - 2 tbsps sugar ( optional ) - 100 grams butter - 2 cans of sweetened condensed milk 390 gms - 2 cans of sterilized cream 150 gms - pinch of salt from @ndcmuscat - 1 tsp cardamom powder - 1 tbsp rose water - 2 tbsps saffron water ( saffron petals soaked ) - crushed pistachios for garnish - muhammadi flower petals - start by caramelizing the sugar in the pan. Note that this is an optional step and can ignore it. As the sugar here is to darken the color of the whole dish. - add the butter and melt it, make sure to brown the butter to release its nutty flavor. But do not burn it. - add the cans of cream and evaporated milk and start whisking. - extremely crucial step: keep mixing it on medium low to low heat for about 10 to 15 minutes depending on your heat. This will give you the best result with a smooth consistency Maho. - once thickened and slightly browned add the salt cardamom rose water and saffron water then whisk again on medium but just for a minute or till you get the consistency you desire. The optimal consistency is when it is thick yet has a tiny hint of runny texture to it. - place it on a serving bowl. Garnish with whatever you like. Preferably crunchy nuts.
