They only would have needed a warrant if you don't concieve to a search if asked by the cops ,and you may as well let them because if they have suspicion your going to be held until another cop comes with a warrant,they can seize anything they want if they think it's valuable to the crime you have been accused of doing ,no warrant is needed by the cops !! warrant is only needed if they want to do a search and even then in some cases a warrant isn't needed to perform a search !!
