my christian teacher's aide was responsible for teaching social skills and he showed a video on the history of Xmas. he obviously hadn't watched it first because it was mostly about Mithras.

Everyone talking but no one says the true answer; it’s the solstice. The sun does not leave the horizon from dec 21-24 and then “is born again” on dec 25 as it leaves horizon.
