@consumingcouple: Eating Up Manhattan Ep 2- An iconic NYC steakhouse We didn’t really know what expect with Delmonico’s, but a few people messaged after our Keen’s video that it was worth trying and we’re glad we made it our second stop. It was the first ever fine dining restaurant in America and is older than the Statue of Liberty, so you have all this storied history to appreciate but get to do it in a modern and sophisticated setting. Both the design and food was impressive, they seem to preserve some of this history but also keep up with today’s tastes. We had the wedge salad $28, crab cake $37, Delmonico steak $86, pommes puree $15, Baked Alaska $24. Loved the prosciutto crisps on the wedge salad and the signature Delmonico’s Steak - a thick cut 18oz ribeye with some serious marbling was incredible. A bit of a shame that they don’t do the show of the Baked Alaska being flambeed at lunch, but apparently they’re not allowed due to DOH rules. 📍Delmonico’s, 56 Beaver St, New York, NY 10004
