Big agree. Chat GPT and generative ai are going to make people endlessly lazy and dull. Also I hate the ai summery google gives. I skip right past that it’s always wrong.

My work is trying to push us to use AI for email writing assistance. No. The more I have to write them myself the more I'm training my own brain to write them better in the future and that skill is beneficial in other situations as well.

I don't personally, but chatgpt is actually pretty useful at pulling info from multiple websites and giving you a more rounded out answer than a Google search would. it's just about convenience

Im with you 100% but is guess it’s because Google is borderline unusable. 404 Media did a solid article on it. The engine just straight up ignores words in your query and gives you AI slop instead.

At college and too many people around me keep mentioning they use chat gpt and I don’t want to be annoying but I also just always want to stop and explain how they shouldn’t be doing that!!!

A former coworker on my team sent “goodbye” emails last week and 100% used ChatGPT to write that email. It was so generic and soulless. I clocked it right away.

I really cannot think of a way that AI will make my life easier or better. Just having it involved in a task (especially creative work)immediately cheapens it and removes any perceived merit.

I have had people argue with me that their chat GPT response about something was right even though it disagrees with what the COMPANY WEBSITE states about their product. And I'm not talking reviews I'm talking like comparability of the product or how to use it.

Probably because garbage spammy websites have gamed SEO, and so many ads are piled on top, that simple information like “what time does the Super Bowl start” cannot be ascertained from Google resulrs

No like 100%! I'd rather not use chatgpt at all, but I need to use it in my studies, but even then I use all other resources before going to chatgpt. But people using ai for writing essays, searching answers for simple questions or just doing travelplans etc stuff like that?? Use your brains, google is already incredibly useful tool you are lucky to use 😵

My old boss retired and she was an incredible boss and person at a nonprofit. my old supervisor VERY CLEARLY used ChatGPT to form a congratulations blurb and out it in the Facebook comments.

I use it to track macros and calories. Tells me all the sources its using, creates a spreadsheet that i then can reset at the start of the new day. Waay helpful
