@lukemanwaringgolfpro: 'Top Tip Tuesday' 📢📢 'Links and Parkland' Due to my 'Would you Rather' Links or Parkland poll yesterday across my social media platforms I thought it would be fitting to include it in my Top Tip Tuesday topic. So here it is..... Links and Parkland golf courses have distinct differences and characteristics that significantly impact your gameplay and shot selection. Links golf courses are coastal, featuring sandy terrain with natural open tree less landscapes, undulating holes between sand dunes, tightly mown firm fast fairways, deep 'pot' bunkers and very unpredictable wind conditions. Links golf requires you to play more strategic shots and visualise creativity like adjusting club selection for lower penetrating shots minimizing backspin on your golf ball resulting in a lower ball flight to combat strong wind conditions. You may also want to use more bump and run chip shots rolling the ball to the green rather than flighting your ball high into the wind. Parkland golf courses are inland with manicured tree lined fairways surrounded by lush green landscapes, plenty of water hazards, usually flatter forgiving terrain and mostly sheltered from the wind. Parkland golf courses demand you to hit higher approach shots aiming to land your ball softly on the green, tree navigation by using shot shaping techniques and more direct traditional high lob golf shots around the green.
