Fellow Aspen local here. This is such a stupid take. Even if you’re not employed in town, you’re supporting our economy by shopping and dining here, paying taxes, skiing, etc., etc…

Unpopular opinion: you don’t need to work on the mountain or in town to be a local. Most places in town/on the mountain don’t even provide a liveable wage (hence why people work remote) u do u queen💕

i lived and worked in Crested Butte and Bozeman MT. the locals in CB were awful. i worked on the mountain. Bozeman was way better. it's changed a lot tho ive heard.

The locals literally can’t afford to ski. We take a day off, we miss out on wages when we’re living paycheck to paycheck. I would love to ski, but the pass is $3600. But sure we’re taking up space.
