the amount of carbon produced to mine the minerals used to make solar panels and EV batteries is more than the panels and EV will ever offset.

The problem is the battery for the EV vehicles & components for the solar panels are bad for the planet (to make & dispose of—they kill the land for hundreds/thousands of years.
