There was a substitute teacher of mine that was in the dome when this happened. She told me about the smells and how all she heard was screaming, praying and crying in the dark.

my dad was a fire fighter taking supplies to people after Katerina. he said most of them threatened to shoot him over water or food. his whole crew got so sick from the illness the waters carried.

I volunteered for weeks in Dallas helping the evacuees. I’ll never forget helping a mom warm up a bottle dipping it in hot coffee because we didn’t have a way to warm it up.

Visiting the Katrina museum in NOLA 30 minutes of tears. They had videos playing sounds of the hurricane and interviews and it was an experience I cannot imagine living through.
