@drjoe_md: Nummular dermatitis, also known as discoid eczema, causes round, itchy, and inflamed patches of skin, often triggered by dry skin or irritants. Regular moisturizing and topical treatments can help manage flare-ups and prevent recurrence. If your skin is looking “coin-shaped,” it might be time to see a dermatologist! #rash #EczemaAwareness #Dermatology #skinhealth #healthyskin
I finally asked my doc last year and she said the same thing.

When my daughter was 4 months old she had a spot like that. Her ped thought it was ringworm. Never got better with that cream. Once we figured out the problem it got so much better.

Dr Joe is it possible to only be "affected" on one foot? It's weird that it comes and goes in one spot... right foot area

I used to think it was ringworm too! Switching to gentle products and moisturizing daily made a huge difference. Who else has dealt with this?

I have very sensitive skin. I started getting those patches of flaky skin when I was a kid. CeraVe is 1 of the only brand of lotions I can use. others make me more dry and worsen the condition.

A doc gave me a cream of kenalog and Lubriderm years ago and it worked. Could never get another doc to RX it again so I make my own with OTC 1% hydrocortisone cream and Lubriderm and it works 💯
