Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Fishers, IN. I dropped off my car rental the morning of Feb 6th. To hold myself accountable, I had forgotten some important personal belongings in the back of the trunk (social security card, vehicle title, passport, clothes, tax documents, family obituaries etc.) On Feb 21st I began packing belongings to prepare moving into another apartment. That’s when I realized I had forgotten some very important items and retraced my steps back to this enterprise branch. I called and spoke with an employee who confirmed by belongings were still being held safe. I told them that “I would pick them up the next day” but I lacked the funds to purchase and Uber or another rental. I will admit it’s my fault for allowing life to get in the way since that same we I got the flu and couldn’t stop by until I recovered. After paying rent and renting a car through Hertz I then headed to that same branch to pick up my stuff on March 4th. The branch manager and employees claimed they didn’t know where it was and had no idea what I was talking about. They made up excuses on the spot claiming it could be at another branch or it could’ve been moved to another location for safe keeping. It turns out that all my stuff was thrown in a dumpster in the back of the building. The branch manager deflected all my questions on why they were dumped and blamed it on their cleaning crew company “perhaps threw them away by mistake”. With the help of some employees I had to dumpster dive to claim what items I could. The only things I got back was my social security card and title to my broken down car. Everything else of importance was covered in filth. The branch manager offered half-hearted apologies with a condescending tone saying I brought this on myself. Never provided a real reason as to why I wasn’t contacted before dumping my stuff. Checking my phone voicemails I did receive a message on Feb 7th confirming my stuff was all there. Long story short I will take accountability for being neglectful and not picking up my belongings in a quicker time frame. Believe me I would if I could or had realized sooner…I’ve yet to be contacted by a district manager or customer escalations for compensation or even a real apology. At least a valid reason why my stuff was dumped on day 25 before the 30day policy rule. #enterprise #rentalcar #manager #customerservic3
