@ouroldhouse: We always knew we wanted to build our own dining room table from local lumber. Our original plan was to use one of the dead trees that we milled on our property but apparently it's takes a very long time to dry out the wood and almost impossible to find some who can plane really wide pieces without cutting them into slabs. So we went the next best route and working with our local and very talented "wood guy" who was able to build this beautiful piece for us from locally sourced walnut. We also added a tinted sealer on the wood to give it a deeper color!
