@drjamiesculley_nd: Replying to @isx.444 Is there a difference between reactivated EBV and chronic active EBV? There's no difference. They're two terms that mean the same thing. EBV was dormant and is now an active infection. Treatment is the same for both with a lot of immune support. #epsteinbarr #epsteinbarrvirus #chronicillness #ebv #ebvvirus #ebvreactivation #epsteinbarrsymptoms #reactivatedepstein #chronicfatigue #mononucleosis
Ty that’s helpful! I’m trying to switch pcps bc my current doesn’t believe in chronic ebv… despite my labs indicating it! after years of unknown chronic disease I would love a real treatment plan🙄

I have several questions because I am currently going through a reactivated EBV and it’s been brutal.

You’d think chronic active means you always have some symptom of EBV. Reactivated to me means symptoms go away for a period of time and them comes back. No?

Also do you know anything about stem cell transplants as treatment(hsct)? A lot online says it’s the only proven CURE but it seems extreme and very risky..that’s not the usual treatment I assume?
