I'm jealous! I have a bunch of 16mm but no way to play them without dropping a couple hundred on a projector that "maybe" works online 😩 been trying to find out to rent or borrow for months

Lower the take up reel arm during projecting. Up position is for rewinding. It has two positions.

Sounds like the film is loose around the sound drum too. Usually there’s a little lever that will hold it properly in place and stop that warble caused by the intermittent sprockets

:O neat! How much did you get the projector for? Also, maybe you can solder in a new speaker. Maybe at least of the same voltage if not the same physical size and 3d print a bracket.

If the film projector is old enough, have a tube amp tech take a look into the audio section of it. It may just be that you need to replace some old tubes or capacitors for it to fully function again.
