I need folks to realize that promotion is not for everyone. Leadership. Is not for everyone. There are E4s that are already stellar leaders. There are also SSGs that I’ve had to treat like privates.

I just don’t wanna be a leader. I don’t. I want to work, and be good at work. I can mentor and give life advice to newer soldiers as an E4 like I already do. Not everyone wants/deserves to be a leader

They say this but they forget you are entitled BAH and BAS at E5. yeah it's more responsibility but it's also the first rank with actual privileges. My pay doubled from E4 to E5.

It’s silly not to! If they are at the 4 year E4, where the pay diff isn’t much, they most likely just REUP, if they did and don’t want to promote they will be so far behind every one else.
