The wash basin is likely for your midwife (or other birth worker of choice) to have warm compresses ready for your perineum.

It’s the same in the UK, we bring everything ourselves including nappies and baby milk (if on formula)

Having your baby in a different country is very different. My oldest was born in Germany on a military base. I felt like I was have my baby in the 80’s. Haha

There are birthing centers that are like high end hotels that you stay in for a month, it's not that expensive and is a much better experience than the hospital

In Romania, it's the same, my firends when gave birth went to hospital with 2 suitcases and family and friends brought food during visitation timebecause the food from hospital was so bad. 😩

Top tip - if you can, pack the baby’s clothes into separate bags with a vest, babygrow etc as it is much easier for Dad / midwife post birth to grab to put on baby. Esp if you have more than one size!
