What’s the button sequence for dashing and having the whirlwind hit at the end of the dash? Portal > dash > whirlwind? Or portal > whirlwind > dash?

I feel like when I do the melee animation cancel for my main attack it ruins the combo animation and my attacks are overall slower. Do you notice this?
