my mastiff died from this 3 weeks ago. She was fine then all of a sudden her tummy was huge and she collapsed. She died within five minutes on the way to the vet.

Preventive surgery is called a gastropexy or Stomach tack. It’s recommended for all deep chested breeds like GSD, GD, etc
